Job Objective
  • To work with the management of the school in pursuit of the organisation’s goal of retaining its profile as an employer of choice in the education industry, with a strengthened ability to attract, motivate and retain the best talents by adopting and implementing global human resources best practices and policies.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and be responsible for the development, implementation and communication of HR policies, processes, procedures, and employee handbooks, and ensure with compliance with all relevant aspects of employment law including employment protection, equal pay, minimum wage, or discrimination on the grounds of sex, race or disability.
  • Managing the employment, terms and conditions of service, supervision and welfare of all school staff.
  • Be responsible for strategies for the recruitment, development, and retention of talents.
  • Plan, coordinate and support training and development programs for all categories of staff in the school.
  • Work with the finance team to manage payroll and HR budget.
  • Actively drive and be responsible for positive employee engagement and coordinate the school performance management cycles.
  • Manage all activities relating to secondees such as onboarding, statutory documentations and filing, monthly returns, CERPAC and expatriate quotas.
  • Enforce compliance with safety, child protection and safeguarding policies by all staff.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of staff.
  • Liaise with appropriate external and internal parties such as banks, pension administrators, immigration, NLNG HR units, government and regulatory bodies, etc.
  • Prepare monthly HR reports and metrics, such as headcount, turnover and employee demographics, and analyse same to identify trends for improvement and decision making.
  • Perform other tasks as may be reasonably assigned by the school leadership team.
Education
  • A University degree in the Social or Management Sciences at a minimum of 2nd class honours lower division (2:2).
Certification
  • Possession of any of CIPM, CIPD and other HR-related Professional Certification.
  • Possession of NYSC (National Youth Service Corps) Certificate/Exemption Letter.
Experience
  • Minimum of five years’ post-graduation experience as an HR generalist in a school or a reputable organization.
  • Experience in the use of a school management system will be an added advantage.
  • Should have a track record of excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Not more than 45 years old as at December 31, 2026.
Reporting Line
  • Functionally and administratively reports to the Deputy Head (Non-Academics)
Working Hours
  • 7.30am-4.30pm Monday to Friday
